Citrus Bundt Cake: Super soft and fragrant!

Donuts are a beloved dessert  , and today’s recipe shows you not only how to make them, but also how to give them an incredible flavor thanks to orange and lemon. Making them will be as enjoyable as eating them, as they  ‘re simple and uncomplicated to make . Below you’ll find the list of ingredients and the procedure to follow to bring them to the table.

Ingredients

  • 150 g  sugar
  • 100 g  orange juice
  • 200 g   00 flour
  • 50 g lemon juice 
  • 80 g   sunflower seed oil
  • 8g (half a 16g sachet)   baking powder
  • 5 ml  vanilla extract  or half a sachet of vanilla powder
  • 4   organic eggs at room temperature
  • zest of an   untreated lemon
  • peel of  an  untreated orange
  •  icing sugar for garnish
  • a  slice  of lemon and a slice of orange to decorate

Procedure

Start by preheating the oven to 180°C . Then, take a large bowl and add the sugar and the grated zest of a lemon and an orange. Then,  cut the citrus fruits in half , setting aside a lemon and an orange slice. Then, squeeze the juice from both fruits into a glass and set aside.

Now, using your hands  , mix the sugar and citrus zest  until completely combined. Add the egg yolks and place the egg whites in another bowl.  Use an electric mixer to beat the egg whites until stiff . Using the mixer, mix the sugar and eggs until smooth.

Now pour the sugar , citrus juice, oil, and vanilla extract into the mixture. Mix everything together with a whisk, without using the mixer. Now, add the flour and baking powder, and mix them together with the mixer. Continue mixing until you have  a creamy mixture,  then slowly add the beaten egg whites, stirring from the bottom up to prevent the mixture from deflating.

It’s time to  get your donut pan . Butter and flour it, and pour in your batter. Once done, bake the donut for about 50 minutes.  Once cooked, remove it from the oven and let it cool . Then run a knife around the edge before removing it from the pan. Turn it upside down on a plate, then turn it upside down again so it stands upright. Dust the surface with powdered sugar.

Then, for decoration, place  the two reserved citrus slices on the surface . Now you can bring it to the table and enjoy it with guests and family. Enjoy your meal.
