🍖 Baked Ribs (Tender, Juicy & Fall-Off-The-Bone)

These oven baked ribs are slow-cooked until super tender, then finished with a rich, sticky glaze. No grill needed—just your oven does all the magic. The result is juicy meat with deep flavor and a caramelized BBQ crust.

📝 Ingredients

For the Ribs

  • 1.5–2 kg pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder (optional)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the BBQ Glaze

  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp mustard (optional)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

👩‍🍳 Full Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the ribs

Preheat oven to 160°C (320°F). Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs (this helps them become tender). Pat dry with paper towels.

Step 2: Season well

Mix salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and brown sugar. Rub this mixture generously over both sides of the ribs. Drizzle with olive oil and massage into the meat.

Step 3: Wrap and slow bake

Place ribs on a large baking tray lined with foil. Cover tightly with another layer of foil to trap moisture.

Bake for 2½ to 3 hours until the meat is soft and starts pulling away from the bone.

Step 4: Make the glaze

In a bowl, mix BBQ sauce, ketchup, honey, soy sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, and garlic until smooth.

Step 5: Caramelize

Remove foil carefully. Brush ribs generously with the BBQ glaze. Increase oven temperature to 200°C (390°F) and bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes, brushing once more halfway through for a sticky, glossy finish.

Step 6: Rest & serve

Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before cutting. Slice between bones and serve warm.
