Naturally Repair a Cavity

Naturally Repair a Cavity —

1. The 2 Stages of Cavities

Dentists divide tooth decay into 2 stages:

Stage 1: Early Demineralization / “Pre-Cavity”

  • White spots on enamel, no hole yet
  • Can sometimes be reversed with fluoride, good hygiene, and diet changes

Stage 2: Real Cavity With a Hole

  • Like the “BEFORE” photo you shared
  • Cannot be reversed at home. Needs a dentist to drill and fill
  • Once bacteria break through enamel, your body can’t grow that tooth structure back.

2. What ACTUALLY Helps Prevent New Cavities

These tips can help you avoid more dental visits:

  • Brush 2x daily with fluoride toothpaste for 2 minutes
  • Floss daily — 80% of cavities start between teeth
  • Fluoride: Toothpaste, mouthwash, or dentist fluoride treatment strengthens enamel
  • Cut sugar: Bacteria eat sugar and make acid that causes cavities
  • Drink water instead of soda/juice
  • Cheese + crunchy veggies: Help neutralize acid
  • Dental checkups: 2x per year for cleanings

3. What Does NOT Work

  • Oil pulling, clove oil, or salt water will not fill a hole
  • “Tooth remineralizing” powders can’t regrow a cavity
  • Waiting it out = it gets worse and more expensive

4. When To See A Dentist Immediately

  • Pain, sensitivity to hot/cold/sweet
  • Visible dark spot or hole
  • Swelling, bad taste, or fever

The “AFTER” photo likely shows a dental filling, crown, or restoration. That’s the standard treatment and it works.

Bottom Line

You can’t naturally repair a cavity that already has a hole. But you CAN prevent new ones and sometimes reverse very early white spots with fluoride and good habits.

Skipping the dentist will make it worse and cost more later.
