Super soft and fragrant orange cake! And it’s made with just a blender!

If you’re looking for a super-fragrant dessert that exudes the scent of Sicily for breakfast or a snack, the following recipe is perfect for you.

Orange cake, the ingredients:

To make the orange cake, you’ll need: a large organic orange with the untreated zest; 120 milliliters of semi-skimmed milk; 100 milliliters of sunflower oil; 220 grams of granulated sugar; three eggs; 300 grams of double 0 flour; a sachet of baking powder; and enough powdered sugar for the final garnish.

The preparation

Preparing this dessert is very simple and also very quick and to do it you only need a blender.

After carefully washing and cleaning the orange under running water, cut it into fairly coarse pieces without removing the peel. Remove only the stalk and the base. Once this is done, all that’s left to do is place the orange in the blender and blend for a few minutes until it becomes a sort of puree.

At this point, turn off the mixer and add the milk, sunflower seed oil, and sugar, after which it is blended for a few more minutes.

Break the eggs into a bowl and add them to the mixture, whisking to combine everything.

Then add the flour a little at a time, measuring it out with a spoon (don’t sift it because the mixture will still have lumps, and that’s fine), followed by a packet of baking powder. Blend everything together for another couple of minutes.

Now take a springform pan with a diameter of approximately 25 centimeters, grease it, and cover it with parchment paper. Meanwhile, preheat the oven (conventional) to 180 degrees.

Orange bread: cooking

Pour the batter into the pan and smooth it out with a spatula. Bake for about 50-60 minutes. If the batter is still raw but the top is golden brown, cover it with parchment paper or aluminum foil and continue baking.

Before serving, let the dessert cool. A generous dusting of powdered sugar is a nice finishing touch.

Have fun and enjoy your meal!
