Prekese + Garlic + Bitter Kola Remedy for:
● High blood pressure
● Poor circulation
● High cholesterol
● Stroke
Claims that a mixture of prekese (Aidan fruit), garlic, and bitter kola can treat or prevent high blood pressure, poor circulation, high cholesterol, or stroke are not supported by strong clinical evidence.
What the evidence shows:
- Garlic has the best research of the three. Studies suggest garlic supplements may produce a small reduction in blood pressure and may modestly lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol in some people, but it is not a replacement for prescribed treatment. (NCCIH)
- For bitter kola (Garcinia kola) and prekese (Tetrapleura tetraptera), there is currently insufficient high-quality human evidence showing that they effectively treat hypertension, poor circulation, high cholesterol, or prevent stroke.
- No reliable evidence shows that combining these ingredients creates a proven remedy for preventing or treating stroke.
If someone has:
- High blood pressure: proven approaches include prescribed medications when indicated, reducing salt intake, regular exercise, weight management, and avoiding tobacco.
- High cholesterol: diet changes, exercise, and cholesterol-lowering medications when prescribed have strong evidence for reducing cardiovascular risk.
- Symptoms of poor circulation (leg pain, cold feet, numbness, wounds that don’t heal): medical evaluation is important because the cause can vary.
- Stroke symptoms (sudden weakness, facial droop, speech difficulty, vision changes): this is a medical emergency and requires immediate treatment.
One additional caution: garlic can interact with blood-thinning medications and may increase bleeding risk in some people. (NCCIH)
If you’d like, I can also explain the traditional uses of prekese and bitter kola and what research has (and hasn’t) found about them.
